My friend is looking for a professional camcorder to buy to live bands play at concerts included, and none of us know much about them. He thought about the Canon DM-XM1 XM1E 3CCD MINI DV Semi-Pro "on eBay, but I wonder if anyone can suggest a good first camera" for him? Xxx

I would be very careful with a video camera that is old - the XM1 video camera - you get me wrong - but dates from the year 2003.
Please check the Canon GL2.
It is good to use miniDV tape camcorders. To capture less compressed video (DV). You have no vibration problems with HDD camcorders can - a problem for the recording of live bands that are noisy due to loud sound vibrations.
